Veterans Day

The veterans did a lot for our country than just fighting for our freedom. They fought in the wars for us, not just our freedom. Their sense of duty compelled them to fight for the safety of their families and friends. Just stopping and thinking about how much they gave for us is a way to honor our veterans.

Flag, Memorial, Honor, American In WWII, the Allied troops of 150,000 men stormed the beaches of Normandy to get an advantage over the Germans and their allies. It was a great turning point for the war in Europe. Many men died on that day. The German forces were waiting for our forces. It was a massacre. Most of the men did in the first 3 seconds of the invasion. Many more died in the next minute. But we held our ground and came out victorious. Many of those men died for their families and their country. They died in fear of their country and its inhabitants being harmed at the hands of the Nazi Germans.

Veteran, Flag, Child, Hand, AmericanWhen the Korean War started, the United States rushed to the aid of South Korea when North Korea invaded the country. We joined the war because of our sense of duty. We fought for what we knew was right.

We joined the Vietnam War when two of our destroyers stationed in Gulf of Tonkin radioed in that they had just been fired upon by North Vietnamese forces. We joined the war for the purpose protecting our country and the people living within it. During the Vietnam war, 58,220 American men died in combat and after the war; many more died of diseases that they contracted during the war in the Vietnamese forests. They died to protect us and the future generations.
